The Nit Kit Spray (manufactured and tested in Ireland) contains Dimethicone, which is an effective and safe alternative Pesticide-free treatment . Dimethicone (also spelled dimeticone) is a silicone-based polymer that works mechanically to lubricate hair to aid the removal of nits and lice, while physically occluding the respiratory system of the louse.

This is the Life Cycle of a head louse. The critical stage to understand is the first phase after the Nit (egg) is laid. For the first 5-7 days the nit is not visible to the human eye. So when you comb and remove Louse you must always follow the recommended combing schedule and recheck for eggs that have come through after the first phase.
